2008 EXPLANATION OF SERVICES OFFERED AT NORTHERN WINDS STABLES

To welcome our newest clients and to benefit our old ones, we offer the following explanation of services. We hope this will help each and every one of you understand the services offered by Northern Winds Stable.
The Show Horses
BOARD AND TRAINING
Billed the 15th of every month for the coming month (except for supplements, which will be billed for the prior month) $750.00. Includes bedding, feed, hay, full care and grooming and full professional training timed and dictated by the individual horse’s particular needs and abilities.
ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES
While all work tack such as bridles, saddles, work harness and jog cart are traditional part of the professional horseman’s training services, there are some items that are equally traditional as personal effects of the horse. These include the horse’s own leather halter, blankets, bustle and any other equipment that the particular individual needs that is uncommon to the other horses or that is custom-fitted. If the horse needs such personal effects, it will be itemized on the owner’s next statement or billed directly by the vendor to the owner.
SHOEING AND VETERINARY SERVICES
The vets and farriers for the most part bill the customer direct. Although, if Northern Winds Stable pays directly to them, payment will be billed on your next statement. On the occasion a farrier or vet is needed at a horse show, we ask that if possible the client could pay the vet or farrier at the show. If this is not possible, Northern Winds Stable, will pay and than bill the client on the next monthly statement.
SHOW EXPENSES
The client will be billed a day care rate for each day the horse is away from Northern Winds Stable. Starting the day the horse and employees leave and ending the day the horse and employees return. The day care rate is $50.00 per day. This charge helps cover care that the horse receives while at the show, and additional caretaker per diem expenses, food for trainer and caretakers. All other expenses, such as hotel, airfare or transportation, rental car, box seats, stall decorations, bedding and tack stalls will be prorated among the horses attending the show. The client is required to pay all entry fees, exhibitor passes, office fees and stall fees for each horse. Northern Winds stable hires and individual at the show to braid hunter horses and this fee will be charged on the next billing statement to those owner exhibiting hunt horses.
SUPPLIES
Supplies that are needed to present your horse for showing, such as baby powder, baby oil, ginger, hoof black, tape, Vaseline, Vicks, etc. is included in the day care fees. Unless it is something specific for a certain horse, and these fees will be added on the next billing statement.
EQUIPMENT
Northern Winds Stable asks their customers to provide all equipment needed to show their horse, such as; show bridle and show saddle, sheet, winter blanket, tail bag and hood which will be purchased from Radon, Inc. In Northern Winds colors, and billed directly to the client from Radon. Northern Winds will discuss any large purchases with the customer before buying them.
BODY CLIPPING
The cost for body clipping is $75.00 (includes tranquilizer). This fee helps with cost of clippers, clipper blades, oil, sharpening, maintenance, etc. It is not unusual for a horse to be body clipped several times a year, depending on the individual horse.
HAULING
Northern Winds Stable provides the hauling to and from the horse shows. Transportation will be billed at $.70/mile.
SELLING OR BUYING HORSES
A 10% commission will be charged on all horses bought or sold through Northern Winds Stable.

Should your association with Northern Winds Stable be cut short in any way, or should you decide to choose another professional training establishment, we truly hope that you take with you a positive memory full of rewarding experiences, However, the door is always open and will remain so for the foreseeable future. We simply and fairly state that horses will gladly be released from the farm upon consent of the owner, with current negative Coggins test and all indebtedness to Northern Winds Stable paid in full.
Our reputation insures that your horse will receive the highest quality of training and care. While every precaution is taken for the safety and welfare of our client horses, Northern Winds Stable cannot be responsible for any accidents of nature, and is not liable for any injury.
